Alternations and Repairs

We place the highest importance on garment quality, construction, and longevity.

All Lora Gene pieces are made to a high standard and are covered by statutory consumer rights under UK law, meaning items must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose, and as described at the time of purchase. This applies independently of any additional services we may offer.

Pre-order alterations

For pre-order garments, we are happy to accommodate minor alterations before production, such as adjusting garment length or making small fit refinements. These pre-production adjustments are offered free of charge when requested prior to purchase confirmation.

Any alterations or repairs requested after the garment has been completed are treated as a standard alterations service and are subject to the fees outlined below.

Alterations Service

If you would like to make adjustments to an item made by us, we offer a limited alterations service, subject to feasibility.

Alterations are carried out with care and, where possible, follow the original construction methods to preserve the integrity and balance of the garment.

Please note that alterations are a paid service and are not included as part of the statutory warranty.

Available Alterations & Fees

Length adjustments

Trouser hems, skirt or dress length adjustments
£35–£45 (depending on fabric, lining, and finish)

Sleeve length adjustments

Shortening or lengthening sleeves
£35–£45

Waist adjustments

Minor take-in or let-out where construction allows
£40–£60

Minor fit refinements

Light shaping or tapering, where structurally possible
Quoted individually

Custom-Made Items

For garments ordered with custom measurements, alterations may be offered where feasible.

Alteration costs are chargeable and return shipping for alteration services is the customer’s responsibility. Not all alterations are technically possible once a garment has been completed.

We recommend reviewing measurements carefully before placing a custom order. If you are unsure, our team is happy to advise in advance.

Altered items are not eligible for return or refund.
